Repair Risks

Device repair carries inherent risk. Some devices may be beyond repair, or may sustain further damage during the repair process. Internal components — especially on devices with prior liquid exposure — can be corroded, weakened, or unstable, and may fail unexpectedly during service even with careful handling. Devices with adhesive-sealed screens (common on many tablets and newer phones) require prying to access internal parts; while we take care to minimize risk, glass and display components can crack or break during this process. Biometric features such as Face ID or fingerprint sensors may occasionally stop working after a repair, depending on the condition of the device going in. This is uncommon, but possible.

Estimates

We do our best to give accurate estimates upfront, but electronics don't always reveal every issue until we're inside the device. Estimates may change as we learn more during diagnosis or repair. If we need to revise your estimate, we'll contact you before doing any additional work — no changes are made without your approval. Your original estimate remains valid for the scope of work it covers.

Limited Shop Warranty

559 Mobile Repair offers a 60-day warranty on all repairs. If the original issue reoccurs within 60 days of service, we'll fix it again at no additional charge. Parts we install are also covered for 60 days from the service date. This warranty covers only the original issue diagnosed and repaired — it does not cover new or unrelated issues that develop afterward.

Warranty Exclusions

Some repairs may void your device manufacturer's warranty. By sending your device to 559 Mobile Repair, you acknowledge and accept this.

Warranty Repairs

If your device experiences a related issue within 60 days of your original repair, mail it back to us and we'll perform the repair again at no extra cost. You are responsible for shipping the device to us; we cover return shipping for approved warranty repairs. If the issue turns out to be unrelated to the original repair, we'll let you know the cost of the additional repair before proceeding. Refunds are only issued if we are unable to fix the device, and any refund will exclude the repair attempt fee and return shipping.

Estimated Turnaround Time

We work through repairs in the order received and aim to turn most jobs around quickly, but timing depends on factors outside our control (parts availability, diagnosis complexity, shipping carriers, etc.). Any turnaround estimates we give — on our site, form, or in conversation — are best guesses based on past experience, not guarantees.

Replacement Parts

If your repair requires ordering a part, we'll contact you first to explain what's needed, why, the cost, and an estimated arrival window. Shipping delays are outside our control, so arrival estimates aren't guaranteed. If you'd like us to hold your device while we wait on a part, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the part cost is required.

We generally only use parts we source ourselves, since we can't verify the quality or fit of parts we didn't purchase. If you supply your own part, any work performed using it is not covered by our warranty, and you accept responsibility for any damage caused by that part.

Repair Attempt Fee

For repairs involving motherboard-level work, data recovery, or devices with evidence of prior repair attempts, a repair attempt fee of $40–$100 applies if the repair is unsuccessful, data can't be recovered, or the device shows signs of prior tampering. This fee covers diagnostic and labor time regardless of outcome.

Shipping Policy

Please follow the shipping instructions provided on our mail-in intake form exactly — that's what we use to determine how your device should be packed and returned. We strongly recommend insuring your shipment. If you choose not to insure your package, 559 Mobile Repair is not responsible for damage or loss during shipping. Devices shipped in non-original or inadequate packaging are more susceptible to shipping damage; if you send us your device in generic packaging, we'll return it the same way, at your own risk. If you provide your own prepaid return label, please add insurance yourself — we're unable to add insurance to labels we didn't purchase.

Data & Privacy

We take reasonable precautions to protect your data during repair, but we cannot guarantee its safety or integrity, and we are not liable for data loss resulting from our service. If we know in advance that a specific repair carries data risk, we'll tell you what's at risk and offer a backup option (for an added fee) before proceeding. Given the complexity of modern electronics, we can't predict every possible outcome in advance. We strongly recommend backing up your device before mailing it in.

Device Pickup / Return & Storage

Because we're a mail-in shop, all devices are shipped back once repairs are complete. If we're unable to reach you or ship your device back for any reason within 60 days of completed repair, and we haven't heard from you, the device will be considered abandoned. At that point, 559 Mobile Repair reserves the right to recycle the device (if non-functional) or sell it to recover repair and parts costs. If you need us to hold your device longer than 60 days, please contact us to make arrangements — a storage fee of $40/month applies after the initial 60-day period.
